Under President Joe Biden, the American taxpayer will once again be supporting abortions performed abroad.
Fox News reports that Biden is getting ready to put an end to the Mexico City policy. What this policy does is stop taxpayers’ money from going to international groups that either perform abortions or provide information about abortions.
It is a policy that has been supported by Republican presidents and rejected by Democratic presidents for decades. Former President Barrack Obama rescinded it when he took office, and former President Donald Trump reinstated a particularly strong version of it when he took over.
Now, Biden will follow in the footsteps of Obama and his Democratic predecessors.
The doctor gives the news
We know that Biden will rescind Trump’s Mexico Policy because Dr. Anthony Fauci said as much at a press conference on Thursday.
Fauci is the infectious diseases expert who became a household name over the past year while making frequent television appearances providing his opinion on the coronavirus. Now, Fauci is Biden’s chief medical adviser.
“It will be our policy to support women’s and girls’ sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights in the United States, as well as globally,” Fauci said on Thursday.
Fauci continued: “To that end, President Biden will be revoking the Mexico City policy in the coming days, as part of his broader commitment to protect women’s health and advance gender equality at home and around the world.”
To give you an idea of what is at stake here, Trump stopped roughly $9 billion taxpayers’ dollars from going to international groups that support abortions.
The pro-choice group MSI Reproductive Choices, alone, said that Trump’s policy cost it $30 million that would have been used to perform literally millions of abortions.
Breitbart has reported that abortion was “the number-one cause of death globally in 2020, with a record 42.7 million unborn babies killed in the womb.” This came from a Worldometer report, and, to give some perspective, 8.2 million people died worldwide from cancer in 2020.
Americans, as a result of Biden’s policy change, will now provide the funding necessary to keep abortions the number-one cause of global deaths.
