It’s bad news for America as former president Joe Biden is back in the loop.
The Washington Examiner reports that Biden, as the Democratic presidential nominee, is back to receiving United States’ intelligence briefings.
According to the Examiner, this must have happened recently because Biden had just stated on June 30th that he was not getting such reports, instead, saying that he “may very well” ask for one. This was back when the big story was whether or not President Donald Trump knew that Russia had paid the Taliban to go after U.S. troops, with many mainstream media outlets trying to claim that Trump knew and decided not to do anything about it.
Biden made the revelation at a campaign fundraising event on Friday night, telling the crowd that, “I get briefings again.”
Biden let the cat out of the bag while talking about the possibility of Russia and others, once again, interfering in the upcoming elections.
“We know from before, and I guarantee you I know now because now, I get briefings again,” he said. “The Russians are still engaged in trying to delegitimize our electoral process. Fact.”
We know from investigations that have been conducted by U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia did try to interfere in the 2016 election. According to Biden, these briefings also show that “China and others are engaged as well in activities that are designed for us to lose confidence in the outcome.”
Biden, at the fundraiser, went on to try to score some points with voters ahead of November. He did this in a couple of ways.
First, he did so by simply bringing up the fact that he got his intelligence briefing and that he read it. Biden, in the past, has criticized the president following claims that Trump does not read his intelligence briefings.
Then, Biden claimed that, if Russia were to try to interfere in the 2020 elections and if he were to defeat Trump, then Russia would have “a real price to pay.”
This, of course, implies that Trump has let Russia off easy – the same leftist narrative that goes all the way back to the claims of Russia-Trump collusion.
It should be noted that neither the White House nor Biden’s campaign has confirmed that Biden is indeed receiving intelligence briefings – so, it is possible that it is just another one of those made-up stories that Biden is known for. Let’s just hope that, if it is true, it’s only going to last until November.
