With all of the problems that America is currently facing, it may come as a surprise to learn that President-elect Joe Biden’s first priority is trans rights, and he is going to pursue pro-transgender policies on his first day in office. But, that is exactly what he plans to do.
Breitbart recently released a report detailing the transgender policies that Biden will pursue immediately upon taking office on January 20th.
Reverting back to “Obama-Biden guidance”
What this so-called guidance did was dismiss the idea that there are only two biological sexes. It did this by allowing Title IX to protect transgender students from discrimination based on their “transgender status.”
President Donald Trump and his administration have removed the “Obama-Biden guidance,” restoring Title IX to its original, biology-based, two-sex definition.
According to “The Biden Plan to Advance LGBTQ+ Equality in America and Around the World,” Biden will immediately reinstate the “Obama-Biden guidance” upon taking office.
“On his first day in office, Biden will reinstate the Obama-Biden guidance revoked by the Trump-Pence Administration.”
This is what will happen from a legal standpoint. From a practical one, as Biden points out in his plan, what reinstating the Obama-Biden guidance will do is “restore transgender students’ access to sports, bathrooms, and locker rooms in accordance with their gender identity.”
The “Equality Act” & transgender medical treatments
Biden also plans on signing the Equality Act within his first 100 days in office.
According to Breitbart, what the Equality Act will do is “codify into federal law transgender bathrooms, the elimination of women-only sports, forcing preferred pronoun use, and other similar special transgender privileges.”
We also ought not to forget that in addition to all of this, Biden, during the ABC town hall that took place in October, voiced his support of transgender medical treatments for children who suffer from gender dysphoria.
“The idea that an eight-year-old child, a ten-year-old child, decides, you know, ‘I want to be transgender.’ That’s what I think I’d like to be. It’d make my life a lot easier,’” he said. “There should be zero discrimination.”
This is just a little taste of what we can expect in the near future. And, with Congress now under the control of the Democrats, Biden will face little resistance.
