China is becoming more powerful than the US – where is Biden?

Americans got some startling information recently regarding China’s nuclear capabilities, and it has many observers expressing concern.

Fox News reported on Sunday that the Asian power tested a new hypersonic missile in August that is capable of delivering a nuclear payload.

The network cited a pair of unnamed sources said to have been briefed on the development who said the rocket circled the Earth and landed within roughly two dozen miles of its target.

New Chinese missile said to be “harder to track and destroy”

The two sources said the development came as a shock to American intelligence agencies, with one quoted as telling the Financial Times, “We have no idea how they did this.”

MIT professor Taylor Fravel specializes in Chinese nuclear weapons, and he said that the missile is known as a hypersonic glide vehicle.

He said that such a design is capable of flying “lower trajectories and can maneuver in flight, which makes them hard to track and destroy.”

The news of China’s advancement in missile technology comes as regional experts are already warning that the United States needs to be wary.

Admiral Philip Davidson serves as head of America’s Indo-Pacific command, and Fox New quoted him as saying during a Senate Armed Services Committee that growing Chinese military prowess has the potential to pose a serious threat.

Pentagon spokesman says Biden administration sees China as its “number one pacing challenge”

“The military balance in the Indo-Pacific is becoming more unfavorable for the United States and our allies,” Davidson told lawmakers.

“With this imbalance, we are accumulating risk that may embolden China to unilaterally change the status quo before our forces may be able to deliver an effective response.”

When contacted by Fox News, Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby offered no comment on the missile test but did say that the Biden administration is staying on top of developments.

“We have made clear our concerns about the military capabilities China continues to pursue, capabilities that only increase tensions in the region and beyond,” Kirby said. “That is one reason why we hold China as our number one pacing challenge.”
