Elon Musk pushes a hard line on Twitter bots, suggests buying company for less

As he negotiates purchasing Twitter, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is aggressively pushing for the company to account for the millions of fake accounts, or ‘bots,’ that populate their site.

After putting his deal on ‘hold’ over the issue, Musk now appears to be re-thinking the purchase price of his $44 billion bid to buy the company, the Washington Examiner reported

Musk pushes new price

Musk recently said he was pausing the acquisition until Twitter could verify the number of fake accounts. Twitter claims the percentage is no higher than 5%, but Musk is skeptical.

In a series of tweets Saturday, Musk aired his concerns about the prevalence of spam on Twitter and the company’s “very suspicious” response to his inquiries about bots.

“I’m worried that Twitter has a disincentive to reduce spam, as it reduces perceived daily users,” he wrote, adding in a separate tweet that Twitter still won’t say where the 5% figure comes from.

“No, they still refuse to explain how they calculate that 5% of daily users are fake/spam! Very suspicious,” he wrote.

Musk responded “absolutely” to a tweet suggesting that his Twitter bid should cost less, proportional to the allegedly much higher percentage of bots.

Making Twitter real?

A recent study revealed that half of Joe Biden’s Twitter followers are fake. One wonders how many other Democrat politicians and liberal hack journalists have similarly padded followings.

Needless to say, the leftist woke oligarchy isn’t thrilled with Musk’s desire for more authentic, free discussion on Twitter, but their efforts to villainize Musk only seem to be pushing the billionaire further to the right.

Musk revealed last week that he will vote for the Republicans this year, calling Democrats the party of “division and hate.”

“In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party,” Musk said. “But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.”

Musk has also said he would reinstate President Donald Trump, calling his permanent ban over the Capitol riot “stupid” and immoral. Trump has said he has no plans to return, but the Biden regime is watching Musk’s deal closely.
