For Democrats, gaining political power isn’t enough. In recent days, we have seen how Big Tech has censored President Donald Trump and conservatives. Now, one group of leftists is looking to punish supporters of the president.
Breitbart reports that the anti-Trump group known as the “Lincoln Project” is compiling a list of Trump supporters whom they are looking to hold professionally “accountable.”
What country is this?
Stuart Stevens, a Republican who works with the Lincoln Project, revealed the group’s plan on Twitter on Saturday.
“At @ProjectLincoln we are constructing a database of Trump officials & staff that will detail their roles in the Trump administration & track where they are now,” Stevens wrote. “No personal info, only professional. But they will be held accountable & not allowed to pretend they were not involved.”
Stevens wrote this message in response to a tweet from reporter Andrew Feinberg revealing that Forbes is taking a similar approach.
Feinberg tweeted: “Whoa. @Forbes chief content officer warns against hiring @kayleighmcenany or other prominent Trump flacks: ‘Hire any of Trump’s fellow fabulists above, and Forbes will assume that everything your company or firm talks about is a lie.'”
This isn’t the first list of its kind
Before the election, the so-called Trump Accountability Project revealed that it was compiling a list of Trump supporters, just like the Lincon Project, in an effort to hold them “accountable.”
“The Trump Accountability Project was started because we believe restoring democratic norms are vital to protecting America’s future,” the group’s mission statement reads.
It continues: “A critical part of making sure the nation never finds itself in this position again is to make sure those members of the Trump administration responsible for loosening the guardrails of our democracy are not rewarded with book deals, TV contracts, or six-figure salaries in the private sector based on that experience.”
This effort was promoted by the likes of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). But, after much public criticism, the project was abandoned.
Get used to it
Now, the Lincoln Project appears to be picking up where the Trump Accountability Project left off.
We seem to be rapidly descending from freedom of thought to freedom to think as leftist leaders want you to think. Dark days are ahead if this continues.
