Far-left reveals its plan for a Biden administration

Many on the right believe that Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden is a “trojan horse” for so-called progressive Democrats. The progressives would appear to agree.

Fox News reports that far-left Democrats have just revealed their utopian vision for America, a vision that they plan to push under a Biden administration.

Some details

The plan has been given the name the “People’s Charter,” and it has been developed by the Working Families Party.

Fox reports that the “People’s Charter” “calls for free public healthcare, universal childcare, creating millions of green jobs, canceling student debt, a $15 minimum wage, and shifting money away from police departments and toward investments in schools and communities.”

The plan would further seek to eradicate perceived systemic racism, to heavily tax billionaires and corporations, and to fight climate change. And, in response to the economic troubles that have resulted from the coronavirus, it would look to cancel rent, ban foreclosures, give retroactive hazard pay to essential workers, and extend the $600 federal unemployment benefits.

The “People Charter” is already receiving the support of far-left Democrats in Congress, including members of the so-called squad – Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA). Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) has said that he expects “at least 80 to 100 House Democrats will support the basic principles and agenda.”

“A doorway”

The “progressives” aren’t hiding the fact that step one of this plan is to get Biden elected.

“We’ve always said that electing Joe Biden was a doorway, not a destination,” said Maurice Mitchell, the national director of the Working Families Party. He added, “We’re going to beat Donald Trump on Nov. 3, and then we’re going to organize to make the vision outlined in the People’s Charter a reality.”

Omar put out a similar statement.

“The vision laid out in the People’s Charter is exactly why we’re going to beat Donald Trump in November,” she said. “Organizing people around the promise of something better – that’s how we’ll win. And when we do, we’ll be ready to fulfill that promise.”

Looking forward

In recent weeks, Biden has attempted to distance himself from far-left Democrats, which, of course, is kind of hard to do when your running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), is one.

But, the other problem for Biden is that he has to try to convince Americans that he will be able to withstand the push that will be made by the progressives once he is in office – a push, by the way, that will be supported by, among others, social and mainstream media outlets. Again, it is a hard sell for Biden as many doubt whether he can even make it through a hypothetical first term.
