Poll: majority says VP Harris not qualified to be president

The left’s hope was that Kamala Harris would become more popular with Americans as Joe Biden’s vice president and that Americans would come to recognize her as presidential material. But, it’s not happening. If anything, the opposite is.

The findings of a new poll, according to the Daily Wire, show that a decreasing number of Americans think that Harris is qualified to lead the country.

The poll was recently conducted by Rasmussen Reports from August 12th to August 15th. 1,000 U.S. likely voters were surveyed and the margin of error is plus or minus three percentage points. But, that’s not going to help Harris here.

The numbers

One question that the pollster asked participants was whether they believe that Harris is qualified to be the president of the United States.

Only 43 percent of participants opined that Harris was so qualified. 55 percent said that Harris was not qualified, which leaves two percent undecided.

Breaking the numbers down a bit further, only 29 percent indicated that they believe Harris is “very qualified” to run the United States. 47 percent said that Harris was “not at all qualified.” That covers the two extremes.

And, to further put these findings into perspective, the trend here has actually been downward.

Back in April, in a poll conducted by the same Rasmussen Reports, the pollster found that 49 percent believed that Harris was qualified to be president. So, that’s about a six percentage point dropoff over the course of four months. Where is Harris going to be at the end of the year, one may ask?

Those who participated in the poll were not asked why they don’t believe Harris is qualified to be U.S. president. But, it is not too difficult to guess the reason why. After all, what has Harris succeeded at?

She was put in charge of the southern border crisis by Biden, but all she did was ignore it while talking about “root causes.” Following that failure, reports emerged indicating that Harris maintains an unhealthy office environement. And, there has been little good news for Harris in between.

Just recently, Harris tried to take credit for the Biden administration’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan. But, this has backfired on Harris spectacularly.

What’s more puzzling about all of this is not those who say Harris is not qualified to run the country, it is those who say that she is qualified. What are those people thinking?
