Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo just made a big 2022 announcement.
Breitbart reports that Pompeo has launched a political action committee (PAC) with the goal of helping Republicans to win the 2022 midterm elections.
Pompeo’s PAC is called the Champion American Values PAC. And, Pompeo says that, not only will it be directing its funds toward U.S. congressional races, it will also be looking to help state Republicans take back their legislative and executive branches.
“I’ve begun my efforts already to make sure we build out a team to make sure we got enough candidates who crush their adversaries in November 2022, not just taking back the House and the Senate but state legislatures and city council offices across America,” Pompeo said during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily Tuesday.
He’s already doing it
According to Pompeo, his PAC has already been extremely active.
“We’ve done dozens of events and we’ve got dozens more scheduled, where we’re going to go out and talk about the things that matter to the American people and to the American worker and make sure we get them to the polls and we win in November 2022 all across America,” Pompeo said.
With regard to “things that matter,” Pompeo said that “it’s the things here at home.”
Pompeo warned of the dangers of wokeness, of things like the Green New Deal, and more. He noted, “if you cancel the voices that reflect our founders’ ideals and the things that made America the most exceptional nation in the world, no amount of work anywhere in the world will save America from what our founders ultimately knew could bring the republic down.”
The energy is there
Republicans only need five seats to regain the U.S. House and one seat to regain the U.S. Senate. This, of course, is more than doable.
Many, however, are worried that Republican voters are demoralized following what happened in the 2020 election. Pompeo says that, during his trips across the country, he has seen some of that, but what he has seen more of is energy.
“You may be right there may be some folks out there who saw what happened in November 2020 and say ‘oh I’ve had it,’ but I see a lot of folks who say ‘I saw 2020 and I’m not letting that happen again,” Pompeo said.
Let’s hope Pompeo is right because, as he put it, “it matters so much to the things we all care about — our families, the ability to practice our faith, all the things that the left is attacking.”
