Fox News just put out a report suggesting that President Joe Biden, with the country a mess and his approval numbers underwater, is turning to former President Barrack Obama for help.
“President Biden appears to be leaning more on his former boss as the White House comes under increased pressure to improve the nation’s economy and outlook on the future of the Democratic Party,” the outlet reports.
Fox goes on to support this by calling attention to the fact that Obama will be attending the United Nations COP26 climate summit that is going to be held in Scotland next month.
Fox also points out that Obama has recently spoken out in favor of Biden’s $3.5 trillion “Build Back Better” spending proposal, and that Obama will campaign on behalf of Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe (D), whom the Biden administration revealed it wants to be elected.
President “in name only”
Separately, the Fox News Channel’s Jeanine Pirro, during her Saturday evening show, questioned whether Biden is in fact running his administration.
“In case you didn’t know it, Joe Biden is the president of the United States in name only,” Pirro said. “Someone else is running the White House. Barack Obama, maybe?”
Pirro went on to highlight all of the times that Biden has said that he would get in trouble if he takes questions from reporters. “Is someone else in charge?” Pirro asked.
And, Pirro suggested that it might be Obama who is actually calling the shots considering that Biden’s policies are largely Obama’s policies.
For Republicans, none of this will come as a surprise. Many have long argued that the Biden administration is little more than Obama’s second presidency.
In making these arguments, they point to the fact that the Biden administration is filled with people who were part of the Obama administration, including Susan Rice. On top of this, the Biden White House has admitted that Biden and Obama speak “regularly” about a “range of issues.”
So, it is probably a pretty safe bet that Obama, in one way or another, has been playing a big role in the Biden administration.
If Fox is right, we are going to see a lot more of Obama in the coming months, particularly ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.
