Reporter to Pres. Biden: “a majority of Americans . . . no longer consider you to be competent”

President Joe Biden had a rather embarrassing weekend.

Breitbart reports that a reporter on Sunday confronted Biden with a poll that found that a majority of Americans believe that he is not competent to lead the country.

Here’s what the reporter asked Biden: “A new poll out today shows Americans wanted to withdraw from Afghanistan, but they disapprove of the way you’ve handled it. The poll also found that based in part on what’s transpired in the last week, a majority of Americans, and forgive me, I’m just the messenger, no longer consider you to be competent, focused, or effective in the job.”

Biden’s response was “I haven’t seen that poll.” The reporter assured Biden that it exists, which prompted Biden to expand on why he believes he made the right call in withdrawing America’s troops from Afghanistan.

The poll

On Sunday, the reporter didn’t identify the origins of the poll he was referring to. But, it appears to be a new poll from CBS News. The poll was taken from August 18th to the 20th, and 2,142 U.S. adults participated.

One of the questions that the pollster asked participants was this: “which of these do you feel describe or do not describe Joe Biden’s actions as President so far?” The question was followed by a number of attributes and the participants had to choose whether they felt Biden has that attribute or not.

One of the attributes was “competent.” 51 percent – a majority – said that they would not describe Biden as competent. Interestingly though, a majority of participants – 56 percent – said that they would not describe Biden as “incompetent,” another attribute that was on the like.

It is not exactly clear how this adds up – perhaps, the participants were just trying to be nice.

“Not capable of running a country”

Someone who was not concerned about being nice to Biden was the Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson. He came right out and said that “Biden is not capable of running a country,” as evidenced by what he caused in Afghanistan.

Carlson, though, didn’t stop there. He argued that, going forward, “Biden won’t be making any of the big decisions” because “Biden isn’t capable of being the president in crisis.” Carlson, though, said he wasn’t sure who would be making the “big decisions.”

Carlson also noted how “the people around Biden are moving away from him,” as evidence by officials publicly contradicting him with regard to the situation in Afghanistan.

Carlson argued that a change is taking place within the Biden administration, but that he doesn’t exactly know what’s happening. We’ll see. But, things certainly do seem to be heading south for Biden in a hurry.
