Here’s something that should be music to the ears of all conservatives, as the president is finally looking to do something about our so-called education system.
The Washington Examiner reports that President Donald Trump has threatened to revoke the tax-exempt status “and/or funding” of universities and school systems that “are about Radical Left Indoctrination, not Education.”
Fighting “Radical Left Indoctrination”
The president’s message came in a series of tweets on Friday morning.
“Too many Universities and School Systems are about Radical Left Indoctrination, not Education,” he wrote. “Therefore, I am telling the Treasury Department to re-examine their Tax-Exempt Status…”
“… and/or Funding, which will be taken away if this Propaganda or Act Against Public Policy continues,” the president continued. “Our children must be Educated, not Indoctrinated!”
We couldn’t agree more with the president here.
Universities, for decades, and other parts of our education system, more recently, have been indoctrinating American students with the liberal agenda rather than properly educating them.
From overhauling the western tradition of liberal – in the proper sense of the word – education, to censoring, even at times, outcasting, students who dare to say anything against the liberal agenda, a good portion of our schools, but especially our universities, stopped educating America’s youth a long time ago.
The president’s new policy if put into effect might be able to change that, essentially punishing those institutions that prefer, in the president’s words, radical liberal indoctrination over education.
That’s not all
This follows an executive order that the president signed in March that threatened to withdraw the federal research funding of universities who do not respect the First Amendment right to free speech.
“We must encourage institutions to appropriately account for this bedrock principle in their administration of student life and to avoid creating environments that stifle competing perspectives, thereby potentially impeding beneficial research and undermining learning,” the order read. It continued:
It is the policy of the Federal Government to: encourage institutions to foster environments that promote open, intellectually engaging, and diverse debate, including through compliance with the First Amendment for public institutions and compliance with stated institutional policies regarding freedom of speech for private institution
As someone who has sat in classrooms, at all levels of our education system, and listened to so-called teachers ridicule conservatives and conservative viewpoints, not with sound reasoning, but with dismissive laughs, it is good to hear that the president is trying to make things better for students of the future.
