President Donald Trump just might set a record this Tuesday for a Republican presidential candidate.
Fox News reports that Jack Brewer, a former NFL player and the current co-chair of the Black Voices for Trump group, believes that President Trump could receive unprecedented support from the important Black voter demographic this election.
“I think it is going to be able to be felt and heard on Nov. 3 when African Americans come out for this president more than they have for any Republican in our generation,” Brewer said during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Sunday.
A step forward
There are various reasons why President Trump might just receive unprecedented support for a Republican presidential candidate from the Black community. But, what Brewer highlighted was the president’s “Platinum Plan.”
“We talk about African Americans and we all know post-slavery, we’ve had declines in our educational capacity, had declines in our various business opportunities, but, now that’s all changing under this president,” Brewer said. “The Platinum Plan will bring a half-trillion dollars to Black America.”
Indeed, the Platinum Plan is Trump’s plan for the Black community should he be elected to a second term. The plan, in Trump’s words, looks to provide “more opportunity, more security, more fairness, and more prosperity to Black communities.”
To achieve these goals, the Platinum Plan, among many other things, pledges 3 million new jobs for the Black community and 500,00 new Black-owned businesses during a second term for President Trump.
The Platinum Plan . . .
“Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership,” Lil Wayne tweeted. “He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”
And, let’s not forget about what President Trump has already done for the Black community. Even CNN’s Van Jones has admitted that President Trump “does not get enough credit for” what he has already done.
“I think it’s really unfortunate because Donald Trump, and I get beat up by liberals every time I say it but I keep saying it, he has done good stuff for the Black community,” Jones recently said. “Opportunity Zone stuff, Black college stuff, I worked with him on criminal stuff, I saw Donald Trump have African American people, formally incarcerated, in the White House, embraced them, treated them well. There is a side to Donald Trump that I think he does not get enough credit for.”
In 2016, President Trump received 8 percent of the Black vote. A Republican presidential candidate typically can’t expect to receive much more than this. Some polls, however, are predicting that the president might just blow this number away on Tuesday, which would be bad news for Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden. We’ll see.
