In the final days of President Donald Trump’s administration, allies have been urging him to declassify all documents related to the Russian collusion hoax. Now, it appears that the president is going to do just that.
John Solomon of Just the News reports that President Trump is about to declassify a “massive trove of FBI documents” showing that so-called Russia collusion was never about anything more than distracting Americans from Hillary Clinton’s own scandals ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
According to Solomon, one bombshell that will result from this declassification has to do with Christopher Steele.
Steele is the former British spy who fabricated the report which claimed a connection between Trump and Russia. It was this “Steele dossier” that U.S. intelligence used to justify its investigation of President Trump.
We already know that Steele was working for both the FBI and Hillary Clinton, who at the time was running for the presidency and was embroiled in an email scandal for having as secretary of state illegally used her own private email server for confidential government communications. We also know that at one point Steele leaked his dossier to the press.
What we don’t know, however, is Steele’s motivation for doing all of this. Now we do, thanks to President Trump’s declassification.
Steele admitted it to the FBI
Among the declassified documents, according to Solomon, is a conversation that Steel had with FBI agents after he was dropped by the agency as an informant.
In that interview, Steele admitted that one of the reasons why he leaked his dossier was because he didn’t like Trump and thought that a Trump presidency would be bad for Britain.
Accordingly, Steele said that he decided to leak his dossier to distract the public from the Clinton email scandal ahead of the 2016 presidential election. He said that what really pushed him to do so was then-FBI Director James Comey’s decision to reopen the agency’s investigation of Clinton in the fall of 2016. Solomon reports that Steele at one point in the interview told FBI agents that he had two clients, in the FBI and Clinton, and that he chose the interests of Clinton over those of the FBI.
This is all confirmation of a previous declassification, which showed that the CIA warned then-president Barrack Obama and the FBI that Clinton started an operation to “vilify” President Trump with a false story in order to distract the public from her own email scandal.
This is already pretty bad. But, believe it or not, the declassified documents will also show a link between Russian collusion and the Ukrainian matter that resulted in President Trump’s first impeachment. According to Solomon, the declassified documents will reveal a connection between Steele and former Trump National Security Council Russia expert Fiona Hill, the woman who was a primary source for Steele and a key impeachment witness for the Democrats.
The “witch hunt” has, once and for all, been confirmed. The question now is: why hasn’t anyone been held accountable?
