Based on comments recently made by former President Donald Trump, it appears that Twitter’s decision to censor him may have been a blessing in disguise.
Breitbart reports Trump as recently saying that his communication efforts have been more effective since his forced departure from Twitter.
“I’m getting the word out because we are doing releases,” Trump said. “Every time I do a release, it’s all over the place.”
“It is better than Twitter, much more elegant than Twitter,” Trump added.
“Twitter is really boring”
Trump’s comments came during an interview that he recently did with the Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity. During this segment of the interview, Hannity had asked Trump about whether he has been able to communicate effectively since being kicked off Twitter. Trump was permanently banned from the site following the January 6th Capitol riot.
In addition to saying that he is getting on just fine without Twitter, Trump took the opportunity to give us his take on the social media site.
“Twitter is really boring,” Trump said. “A lot of people are leaving Twitter. It has become very, very boring.”
When I started with Twitter years ago, it was like a failed thing, concept, a platform, fail. It was failed. And it became exciting. And I think I had a lot to do with it, to be honest with you, it became exciting. Now it is boring. It is no good anymore. The people were telling me.
Recently, it was revealed that Trump is going to create his own social media platform. Jason Miller, one of Trump’s closest advisers, was the first to reveal that, rather than join an existing platform, Trump would create his own.
“I do think that we’re going to see President Trump returning to social media in probably about two or three months here, with his own platform,” Miller said in mid-March.
Since then, other reports have confirmed that Trump is “moving forward” with this plan. Fox News quotes one insider as saying that they are “taking the time to do it right.”
One thing that we can safely say is that Trump’s platform will be anything but boring.
