Former President Donald Trump’s plans for the future have just been announced.
Jason Miller, a senior adviser to Trump, revealed to Breitbart on Saturday that Trump is thinking about starting his own social media platform.
This is what we’ve been waiting for.
Miller made the announcement during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday. There, Miler was asked about Trump’s future plans.
“I would expect that we will see the president reemerge on social media,” Miller said. “Whether that’s joining an existing platform or creating his new platform, there are a number of different options and a number of different meetings that they’ve been having on that front.”
When pushed to provide more detail, Miller simply emphasized that Trump has yet to decide between joining an existing social media platform or starting his own.
“All options are on the table,” Miller said. “A number of things are being discussed. Stay tuned there because you know he’s going to be back on social media. We’re just kind of figuring out which avenue makes the most sense.”
Miller said that, at the moment, nothing is “imminent.”
This all comes after Trump was permanently banned last month by several social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter. The bans came after the Capitol building riot that occurred on January 6th. The outlets justified the bans on the grounds that they were necessary to prevent further violence.
So, for nearly a month now, it has been radio silence for Trump supporters. The former president has launched a communications office in Florida, where he is currently residing, but there has been little to no communication between Trump and his supporters.
As Breitbart reports, starting his own social media platform to rival the likes of Twitter, would be a massive endeavor for Trump. But, with the amount of support that Trump currently has, it is certainly a possibility.
The other possibility would be for Trump to join an existing platform. There are plenty of options out there including Parler and Gab. Both pride themselves on genuine free speech, in contrast to the censorship that is currently taking place in Big Tech.
Hopefully, Trump will make his decision soon. It is palpable that his voice has been missed.
