Vaccinated Jesse Jackson is hospitalized with coronavirus

The Reverend Jesse Jackson and his wife, both staunch pro-vaccine advocates, have been hospitalized with Covid.

It appears that Jackson’s condition might be serious; long-time friend and ally Al Sharpton called for prayers on Twitter Saturday evening.

Jackson and his wife were both vaccinated, and had been leaders in the movement to increase vaccination rates in the African American community.

They’d also been active in DC protests recently, as the Guardian reported that “earlier this month he was arrested outside the US Capitol during a demonstration calling for Congress to end the filibuster in order to support voting rights.”

Our prayers are with Jackson – no one deserves to suffer from this terrible virus. Hopefully, his condition improve.

Food for thought – could you imagine if a non-vaccinated high-profile conservative was hospitalized after participating in a crowded conservative rally? Do you think that the media would respect that individual’s privacy – or do you think they would gleefully trumpet their vaccination status and lack of avoiding crowds.

The double standards are strong.  The reality is that Covid is a nasty respiratory virus that appears to be circumventing vaccines, lockdowns, masks, and many other measures to stop it.

Americans should be able to choose how to live their lives, and not be attacked for that very human condition, illness.
