Breitbart has reported that an illegal alien has been arrested for the brutal stabbing death of a woman in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
The news comes even as the Biden administration has been criticized for its failure to contain the ongoing border crisis.
Authorities allege that 23-year-old Freddy Remigio Mendieta Pando murdered his girlfriend, Karina Torres, following an argument on September 11.
Alleged killer was facing abuse charges
According to Upper Darby Police Department, Torres had taken out an order of protection against Pando but agreed to meet him at at the Schuylkill River Trail.
The order of protection stemmed from a prior incident this past July in which Pando is said to have strangled Torres just prior to the couple splitting up. Pando, who has since confessed to police, was facing up to a decade in prison over the incident and began to argue with Torres about it.
He admitted to at some point producing a knife and then proceeded to repeatedly stabbing his former girlfriend, only stopping once she had died.
Torres’ body was dumped under some trees and Pando threw both the knife that he used to kill her as well as her cell phone into the Schuylkill River.
Violent criminals coming across the border
Border crossing have escalated sharply since President Joe Biden took office, with Fox News reporting that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents logged over 208,887 encounters with illegal aliens in August.
That represents a whopping 317 percent increase over last August, when just 50,014 encounters such encounters were catalogued. What’s more, some of those individuals haver serious criminal records.
Fox News reported 3 months ago that Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector apprehended both known gang members and convicted sex offenders in June. Among them were members the Gulf Cartel and MS-13.
More gang members were pick up in July, with one person said to have previous arrests for aggravated homicide and extortion. Another was arrested for negligent homicide before serving 2 years in prison.
Despite those examples, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas continues to defend the Biden administration’s decision to halt border construction. “We do not agree with the building of the wall,” Mayorkas told Fox News host Chris Wallace on Sunday.
