Prince Harry has decided that the United Kingdom is no longer his place of permanent residency.

Instead, the Daily Mail reports, that the Duke of Sussex has made the United States his home.

Harry makes it official

Harry did so, according to the outlet, in paperwork that he recently filed in Britain.

The Daily Mail reports:

The Daily Mail can disclose that Prince Harry has updated his records in this country to make clear that he no longer lives in Britain. Filings published by Companies House today for 'Prince Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex' record that his 'New Country/State Usually Resident' is now the USA. It was previously recorded as the United Kingdom.

The outlet included a photograph of the document. Next to "new country/state usually resident," Harry put, "United States." Previously, Harry had put "United Kingdom."

Look at the date

In addition to the residency change, what has also caught the attention of many is the date that Harry used for this change, namely, June 29, 2023.

The Mirror explains why this might be significant.

The outlet notes that June 29, 2023, was "one of the last days he and Meghan had access to their old UK home of Frogmore Cottage before they handed back the keys."

The New York Post fills in the details, reporting, "In 2020, Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, 42, relocated to America, where they now live with their kids Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, in Montecito, Calif., in a move dubbed 'Megxit.'"

The outlet continues, "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were evicted from their UK home, Frogmore Cottage — which the late queen gifted them following their 2018 wedding. They finally vacated it in 2023, which left them with no official UK residence. Now, when they visit the UK, they have no place to stay and must stay with friends or in a hotel."

The feeling is mutual

These days, Britain and the Royal Family do not seem to be too crazy about Meghan and Harry either - not that America and Americans are.

This past week, Country Living reported that the Royal Family updated its website "to remove Harry and Meghan’s individual bios and give them one joint bio."

Not only that but the outlet further reports, "Harry and Meghan’s children were also affected by the website change—albeit more drastically. Archie and Lilibet had their biographies removed altogether."

On Harry and Meghan's page, the Royal Family added, "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be returning as working members of the Royal Family, but ‘remain much-loved members of the family.'"
