While President Joe Biden has dominated the headlines in the wake of his disastrous debate with former President Donald Trump, the next big story is still hinging on Trump's VP pick.

According to Fox News, the former president dropped some major hints during a recent interview with host Sean Hannity.

Trump didn't confirm the date of the announcement or who he will select for his 2024 running mate, but provided strong hints as to the timing and the selection.

Hannity noted four potential VP picks that seem to be at the top of everyone's list, which include, "Sens. Marco Rubio of Florida, JD Vance of Ohio, and Tim Scott of South Carolina, as well as North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum."

What's going on?

Trump revealed to Hannity that he might reveal his vice presidential pick at the upcoming Republican National Convention, or shortly before the convention, depending on what his campaign decides.

The Republican National Convention is scheduled to be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from July 15 through July 18th.

"I’d love to do it during the convention," Trump told Hannity of when he wants to announce who he has selected as his VP.

The former president added, "Probably a little before the convention, but not much. It could even be during the convention that we’d do it."

Last month at a rally, Trump said that he had already made up his mind about who he will select as his running mate.

He seemed to contradict that during his Hannity interview, in which he said, "I haven’t made a final decision, but I have some ideas as to where we’re going."

Pushback

While speculation continues to run rampant across the media and on social media regarding Trump's pick, one of his campaign managers made it clear that nobody knows who it is yet, and anyone claiming they do is lying.

"Anyone claiming to know who or when President Trump will choose his VP is lying, unless the person is named Donald J. Trump," Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes told Fox News.

Many believe Trump could also be looking at a surprise pick that might be flying under the radar.

Trump has purposely led the media in different directions in the past before a major announcement and he might just do it again.
