Chuck Todd said Biden cabinet member privately expressed concerns about Biden running in 2024
Democrats are coming out of the woodwork to call on President Joe Biden to step aside and let someone else run against former President Donald Trump in November.
According to the Daily Mail, NBC host Chuck Todd hit viewers with a bombshell regarding Biden's viability of running another presidential campaign.
Todd said a senior member of Biden's cabinet told him a few years ago that Biden "can't run again like this," expressing concerns long before Biden became especially cognitively impaired.
The Democratic Party and Biden's media allies are in absolute chaos right now as they attempt to determine what to do with the 81-year-old president as he continues to stumble in the wake of the disastrous debate with former President Donald Trump.
What's going on?
Todd, the former "Meet the Press" host, spoke about why he doesn't believe Biden has what it takes to make it another four years in the White House.
"This White House had to, they had to drag it out of him that they've had this neurological test... They have no credibility left on this topic," Todd said, before talking about his Biden cabinet source who knew two years ago that Biden wouldn't be up for the task at this time.
"I'm not gonna out the cabinet secretary, right? But I had a cabinet secretary two years ago, all out of the blue ask me, "Do you really think he's gonna, he can't run again like this?" Todd said.
Todd said he replied, "Well, you have more interaction with him than I do."
The unnamed cabinet secretary said, "I don't have a lot of interaction with him."
The conversation further proves that while Biden's White House attempted to downplay the president's condition for several years, the cat was definitely let out of the bag during the debate with Trump.
Now what?
While several House Democrats have called on Biden to step aside, Sen. Peter Welch (VT) became the first Democratic senator to make the same call.
"I have great respect for President Biden. He saved our country from a tyrant. He is a man of uncommon decency. He cares deeply about our democracy. He has been one of the best presidents of our time," the Vermont senator said.
Welch added, "But I, like folks across the country, am worried about November’s election. The stakes could not be higher. We cannot unsee President Biden’s disastrous debate performance. We cannot ignore or dismiss the valid questions raised since that night."
Only time will tell if Biden heeds the numerous calls.
