Melania Trump reacts to assassination attempt on Donald Trump
The attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump not only had a tremendous impact on the nation, but also a scary and traumatizing impact on his wife and children.
According to the Times of India, Melania Trump, upon learning of the attempt on her husband's life, admitted that she realized her and their son's lives were "on the brink of devastating change."
She also expressed sympathy for the families of the victims at the rally, and thanked first responders and the Secret Service for jumping in.
The moment clearly shook the former first lady as she expressed concerns about her son and her family as a whole.
What did she say?
The former first lady seemed genuinely concerned about the future in the wake of the assassination attempt on her husband.
"When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realised my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change. I am grateful to the brave Secret Service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband," Melania Trump wrote.
She added, "To the families of the innocent victims who are now suffering from this heinous act, I humbly offer my sincerest sympathy. Your need to summon your inner strength for such a terrible reason saddens me."
Melania, like her husband, then shifted to focus on unifying the country this year instead of further the divide.

"A monster who recognized my husband as an inhuman political machine attempted to ring out Donald's passion - his laughter, ingenuity, love of music, and inspiration," she added.
"The core facets of my husband's life - his human side - were buried below the political machine. Donald, the generous and caring man who I have been with through the best of times and the worst of times, adding, "Dawn is here again. Let us reunite. Now."

The former first lady received mountains of well wishes from social media users, and many added that they can't wait to see her in the White House.
