A government watchdog that rated Kamala Harris the most liberal U.S. Senator has scrubbed its webpage.

The timing has raised eyebrows, with a battle underway to define Harris since she replaced Joe Biden as the Democrats' presumptive nominee for president.

As recently as this month, the site GovTrack had rated Harris as further to the left of any U.S. senator including notorious socialist Bernie Sanders.

Kamala Harris rating deleted

The founder of GovTrack, Joshua Tauberer, confirmed to Fox News Digital that the 2019 rating was deleted some time in the last two weeks. During that time, Biden ended his re-election bid under pressure from Democrats and endorsed Harris for president.

Tauberer said he decided "years ago" to stop releasing annual report cards. But that doesn't explain why the page was only taken down recently.

"I was focused on more impactful aspects of our work," was all Tauberer said.

GovTrack no longer uses the term "liberal," which has long had a negative connotation in U.S. politics.

The 2019 report card has been widely cited by Republicans and Donald Trump, who blasted Harris as an "ultra-liberal" at a rally in North Carolina this week.

“Kamala Harris is the most liberal elected politician in American history. Did you know that?" Trump asked.

They can't hide it all...

Many are sure to see GovTrack's decision as part of a broader effort to cover up Harris' controversial record. Her role in immigration has faced particular scrutiny, as Republicans aim to tie Harris to the southern border crisis.

Media outlets that previously described Harris as the "border czar" have changed their tune, claiming she never received the role. Some "fact-checkers" have also downplayed Harris' support for a notorious bail fund during the George Floyd riots.

A local CBS station in Minnesota this week accused Trump of lying about Harris donating to the fund, although she solicited money, which isn't much different.

"If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota," Harris wrote at the time.

Republicans seeking to paint Harris as an out of touch California liberal do not have to look very far. There are many clips of Harris taking radical positions, particularly during her failed presidential campaign in 2019.

At the end of the day, the media can't hide all of the evidence.
