Vance calls out Harris for avoiding media questions near Air Force Two at Wisconsin airport

Vice President Kamala Harris is hoping that voters in November will upgrade her mode of transportation from Air Force Two to Air Force One.

Yet, following a humorous and revealing incident on an airport tarmac in Wisconsin with Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), the Republican vice presidential nominee, Harris may soon find herself grounded without access to either of the executive branch jets, according to a Fox News report.

Vance expressed hope that Air Force Two would be his plane in the near future and called out the current vice president for her steadfast refusal to hold a press conference or even address the press pool since she was elevated to the role of presumptive Democratic nominee a couple of weeks ago.

"Hopefully, it's gonna be my plane in a few months"

Both VP Harris and Sen. Vance arrived at the airport in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, around the same time for campaign events on Wednesday, and Vance, flanked by staffers and Secret Service agents, approached the gaggle of reporters waiting near Air Force Two and used the opportunity to humorously troll his Democratic opponent.

"I figured I'd come by and, one, just get a good look at the plane because hopefully, it's gonna be my plane in a few months," Vance said. "But I also thought you guys might get lonely because the vice president doesn't answer questions from reporters, and hasn't for 17 days."

"Have they given you guys an explanation for why she won't take questions from reporters? No? Nobody? Ok, great," he continued. "I hope that she changes her mind because it'd be good for the American people and I think it'd be good for you all if she actually ran a real campaign instead of one from a basement with a teleprompter."

Harris' behavior is "disgraceful" and "insulting to the American people"

Sen. Vance turned to walk back toward his current plane but stopped when a reporter asked what he'd like to hear from VP Harris, and the senator replied, "I'd love her to answer some questions. I'd love her to just answer what she wants to do and also explain why every single position she has had has changed."

"She pretends to be a tough-on-crime prosecutor and yet, here she is, wanting to defund the police. She's the border czar, yet she's opened up the American southern border," Vance said to the VP's press pool. "She's a person who has to answer the questions from the media and it's disgraceful she runs from you guys."

"It's also insulting to the American people," he added. "But anyway, we're gonna go do our event. I appreciate you guys being here. I wish she paid you more attention."

Harris campaign doubles down on Vance is "weird" narrative

In its report on the airport tarmac incident, The Hill confirmed that VP Harris, since assuming the role of presumptive Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden dropped his re-election bid, has not yet held any press conferences or taken questions from reporters in an interview.

The Harris campaign responded to what Sen. Vance did by reiterating its odd narrative that the running mate for former President Donald Trump is "weird."

Ammar Mousa, a Harris spokesperson, said on social media, "Just to clarify, JD Vance is flying around the country following Vice President Harris. He approached her plane today because he just wants to talk. And now he’s begging her for a debate? This is getting weird."

What's actually "weird" here is that Harris thinks she can run for the presidency without answering any questions from the media or fully explaining to the American people what her policies for the next four years would be -- not her Republican opponent calling her out for her silent avoidance of the issues and lack of transparency.
