Kamala Harris ducks out of Fox News debate invitation against Trump

Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, have talked quite a bit of trash on former President Donald Trump.

However, according to the New York Post, she doesn't appear to be interested in backing that up as it was recently revealed that she turned down a Fox News-hosted debate invitation.

The news was curious given that earlier in the month, it was reported that Harris agreed to three debates against Trump, including invites from ABC, NBC, and Fox News.

It was noted by the Post that Harris has apparently only formally agreed to the ABC debate.

What's going on?

Trump responded to the news that Harris had turned down the Fox News debate, prodding her over ducking out because it's not a traditionally Democrat-friendly media outlet and would require her to answer more than the softball questions she gets elsewhere.

"Comrade Kamala Harris has just informed us that she will NOT do the FoxNews Debate on September 4th," Trump wrote this week on his Truth Social account.

The former president slammed Harris for her incessant flip-flopping on major issues, including fracking.

"I am not surprised by this development because I feel that she knows it is very difficult, at best, for her to defend her record-setting Flip-Flopping on absolutely everything she once believed in, including her statements that THERE WILL BE NO FRACKING IN PENNSYLVANIA and her HORRIBLE Performance on the Border, our ‘Border Czar,’ where millions of criminals and people from mental institutions and terrorists, have been allowed to pour into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted," Trump wrote.

Given her cancellation, Trump said he would instead take part in a "Tele-Town Hall, anchored by Sean Hannity, for Fox."

Social media reacts

Users across social media had their own takes on Harris ducking out of the debate.

"It shows weak leadership, cowardly leaders are not what we need," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "The Harris-Walz campaign is really good at running and hiding. They are cowards. Follow if you agree."

Understandably, many agree that Trump will destroy Harris in any debate format on any network. It's no wonder her campaign is clearly scared of a Fox News debate.
