The entertainment world is known for having a left-leaning culture, with many celebrities making their support for Democrats widely known.

However, former soccer player and social media personality Brittany Mahomes recently bucked that trend by coming out in favor of former President Donald Trump.

Mahomes has expressed support for Trump online

According to the Daily Mail, Mahomes recently began liking Instagram posts that expressed support for the Republican Party.

What's more, when a follower wrote 'TRUMP-VANCE 2024' on one of her own posts, she responded by liking the comment.

The former athlete and wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes also liked another reply which praised her for refusing to be intimidated.

It read, "Glad to see you aren't backing down. We are all entitled to our own opinions and shouldn't be bullied into submission."

Trump thanks "beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me"

The Daily Mail noted that Mahomes has faced online backlash for her stance, something which apparently led her to respond by reposting a comment from Christian pastor and author Shane Pruitt.

"Contrary to the tone of the world today… You can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind," Pruitt declared.

Mahomes' political beliefs have not gone unnoticed by Trump, who made a point of praising her this week in a post of Truth Social.

"I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country," the former president declared.

"With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless 'leaders,' it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM," he added.

Mahomes' political preference puts her at odds with best friend Taylor Swift

Interestingly, Fox News pointed out how Mahomes appears to have not always been a fan of Trump, as in a 2017 post she complained that the then-president had "offended waaaay too many people."

The change in politics puts her at odds with close friend Taylor Swift, who is dating her husband's teammate Travis Kelce.

Swift has openly supported causes such as access to abortion and claimed that she was "absolutely terrified" after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade two years ago.
