Though former President Barack Obama has downplayed his existence over the years, his half-brother, Malik Obama, has been nothing short of a thorn in his political side.

According to Fox News, Malik Obama recently made his thoughts known about the Biden-Harris agenda before endorsing former President Donald Trump to win in November.

In the Fox News interview, Malik Obama explained why he ultimately left the Democratic Party and noted that he has supported Trump since 2016.

There was a time when Malik Obama and Barack Obama were close, as Malik was his best man at his brother's 1992 wedding to Michelle Obama.

What did he say?

In recent years, Malik Obama has leveled harsh criticism of the Democratic agenda, and more specifically the policies of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who's now the Democrats' presidential candidate.

Malik Obama admitted in the interview that he's now a Republican, and explained why he supports Trump over Harris.

"I'm supporting President Trump. I've been a supporter, a supporter since 2016. I like him," Malik Obama told Fox News Digital earlier this week.

He added, "I like the way he comes across. I like his demeanor. I like his straightforwardness. And I think he's good for the country. And, he put the country back on course. Yes. I'm a Republican, so he's my nominee."

Holding nothing back, Malik Obama explained that he fell out with the Democratic Party because they're mostly "hypocrites."

"The main thing is making America strong, you know, in the eyes of the world. And Trump is a strong person. He's known for his mettle, his strength and I like that," Malik said. "He's a no-nonsense guy. He's a businessman, so he knows, you know, how to run a big organization. And the Democrats, I fell out with them because they're hypocrites."

Social media reacts

Users across social media reacted to Malik's endorsement of Trump.

"Malik Obama is a smart man!" one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "At least there is still courage in the Obama Family!"

While Malik can't vote in the U.S., it's a notable slam on the Democratic Party given his relation to the party's most popular person.
