The Biden family's time in power is coming to an end

As the 2024 presidential election draws near, so does the end of the Biden family's quest for political power.

We saw one of the final vestigates of the Bidens' time in office this week when, according to the Washington Examiner, First Lady Jill Biden led a cabinet meeting.

She led this cabinet meeting despite the fact that she was not elected to lead this country.

Many are now suggesting that this confirms the rumors that Jill Biden - not her husband - has been calling a lot of the shots behind the scenes over the past few years. Some have claimed that it is Jill Biden who is the power-hungry one, who was forcing her husband to pursue a second term.

"It's all yours, kid"

Joe Biden did start the cabinet meeting, but, according to the Examiner, he quickly handed things over to his wife.

The outlet reports:

This week’s White House Report Card focuses on the latest evidence that first lady Jill Biden is, and long has been, the power in the West Wing. On Friday, the White House wasn’t hiding it. At a rare Cabinet meeting, the president handed over the leadership to the first lady, sitting at the head of the table, her prepared notes in front of her.

This very quickly led many to ask whether a president can legally hand over power like this to his wife. Joe Biden tried to claim that this is nothing unusual.

He said:

Here and across previous administrations, first ladies have attended these meetings for specific reasons. This is the first time Jill has joined us, and it goes to show how important the issue is, which she is about to speak to. It’s all yours, kid.

According to the New York Post, Jill then "read from a binder about maternal health initiatives for four-and-a-half minutes after he husband spoke for just two minutes off the top of the meeting."

Time is almost

The Post further reported that Jill Biden is "considered by insiders to be the most influential first lady since Edith Wilson, who tightly controlled access to her husband, President Woodrow Wilson, after he suffered a debilitating stroke in October 1919."

If true, then this would suggest that the loss of the presidency is probably going to hurt Jill significantly more than it will hurt Joe. Although, neither individual can be happy about being forced out of office by their fellow Democrats.

Jill, in a recent interview, claimed that she is "totally at peace" with the situation.

The Examiner, though, reports "[T]here have been reports that the couple doesn’t feel he received the support he deserved after he was shunted off the stage in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris."

Whatever the case may be, the Biden family's tenure in American politics looks to be coming to an end.
