Harris panics after her teleprompter stops working

Disaster struck Vice President Kamala Harris last week when her teleprompter stopped working.

The Daily Caller reports that the incident took place at a campaign rally that Harris held in Michigan on Friday.

The backstory, here, is that Harris, since becoming the Democratic Party's presidential nominee has, by and large, refused to do anything unscripted for fear that she might put her foot in her mouth.

This is why Harris's teleprompter shutting down is a bigger deal than it would be for her rival, former President Donald Trump, who does not nearly rely on a teleprompter as much as Harris does.

Here's what happened:

According to the Daily Caller, Harris really struggled once her teleprompter shut down.

The outlet reports:

Vice President Kamala Harris, the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee, struggled to form sentences Friday when her teleprompter appeared to stop working mid-speech. Harris repeated the phrase “32 days” multiple times at a Michigan rally when an apparent teleprompter glitch left her stranded to speak without pre-written words.

The number 32 is the number of days, at the time that Harris was speaking, that were left until the 2024 election.

Harris said:

So, 32 days. 32 days. Okay, we got some business to do. We got some business to do. Alright. Thirty-two days. And we know, we will do it. And! And … this is gonna be a very tight race until the very end. This is gonna be a very tight race until the very end. We are the underdog, and we know we got some hard work ahead, but here’s the thing about us. We like hard work!

The sad part is that things are not much better when the teleprompter is on.

"Humiliating"

The "Trump War Room" X account posted a video of the incident. The video can be watched below.

In the caption to the video, Trump's team wrote:

Kamala's teleprompter briefly went out at the beginning of her speech — you can tell the exact moment it happened. She had absolutely no idea what to do or say. Humiliating.

Humiliating it was.

Perhaps the craziest part about all of this, though, is the fact that we have a candidate running for president who lacks the ability to communicate - without a communication aid - with the American people. Who ever would have thought that our country would have reached this point?
