Elon Musk campaigns for Trump at site of attempted assassination
Elon Musk joined former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally on Saturday.
The rally, according to Just the News, took place in Butler, Pennsylvania, which is where the first assassination attempt on Trump took place.
It was shortly after this assassination attempt that Musk decided to officially endorse Trump. The famous image of Trump fist-pumping the air as blood streamed from his ear left a big impression on Musk, as well as many others.
Perhaps this is why it is appropriate that Musk decided to join Trump in Butler on Saturday.
Musk speaks
At the event, Fox News reports that Musk gave a speech in support of Trump's 2024 campaign.
Musk said:
The true test of someone's character is how they behave under fire. We had one president [Biden] who couldn't climb a flight of stairs and another [Trump] who was fist pumping after getting shot. America is the home of the brave, and there's no truer test than courage under fire, so who do you want representing America?
The crowd - of about 60,000 - erupted.
Many in the audience could be seen holding up signs with such words as "Never Surrender" and "Fight, Fight, Fight," which, in a way, have become slogans for the Trump campaign.
Musk went on to warn Americans about what exactly is at stake in the 2024 presidential election.
"This is a must-win situation."
According to Musk, the upcoming election is "no ordinary election."
He explained to the audience:
The other side wants to take away your freedom of speech. They want to take away your right to bear arms. They want to take away your right to vote effectively. You've got 14 states now that don't require voter I.D. California, where I used to live, just passed a law banning voter ID for voting. I still can't believe that's real. So, how are you supposed to have a good, proper election if there's no ID? It's meaningless.
Musk suggested that the best we can do is to "vote, vote, vote."
"If there's one takeaway for anything that will matter is getting those registrations and then and then getting everyone to actually vote. That is what will decide this election, especially in Pennsylvania," he said.
Trump and his supporters have indeed been leading a huge get-out-and-vote effort. There have been some signs of success, including in the important swing state of Pennsylvania. Time will tell whether this strategy will pay off.
