White House reveals Harris's medical record
The White House of President Joe Biden just released Vice President Kamala Harris's alleged medical records.
Fox News reports that the White House did so on Saturday.
As we will see, it did not take the campaign of former President Donald Trump long to pounce on the situation.
To put the situation into context, Fox reports:
The report, which was previewed by a senior Harris campaign aide, comes as the 59-year-old Democratic nominee seeks to contrast herself with former President Trump, 79, who has not made recent health disclosures.
The details
Overall, Dr. Joshua R. Simmons, Harris's physician, claims that the 59-year-old Democratic presidential nominee is in "excellent health."
Simmons wrote:
Vice President Harris remains in excellent health. She possesses the physical and mental resiliency required to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief.
The doctor did make some minor revelations, such as that Harris has a medical history of "seasonal allergies and urticaria," for which she has taken medication.
For the most part, though, the medical report was unremarkable.
As Fox mentioned, this is a rather desperate attempt by the Harris campaign to contrast Harris's health with that of Trump. At 78, Trump, of course, is nearly twenty years older than Harris. But, Trump isn't having it.
Team Trump responds
It was shortly after the release of Harris's medical record that the Trump campaign responded.
Trump communications director Steven Cheung wrote:
President Trump has voluntarily released updates from his personal physician, as well as detailed reports from Dr. Ronny Jackson who treated him after the first assassination attempt. All have concluded he is in perfect and excellent health to be Commander in Chief.
Cheung continued by taking a shot at Harris.
He wrote:
He has maintained an extremely busy and active campaign schedule unlike any other in political history, whereas Kamala Harris has been unable to keep up with the demands of campaigning and reveals on a daily basis she is wholly unqualified to be President of the United States. Her schedule is much lighter because, it is said, she does not have the stamina of President Trump. Polls are reflective of this.
Along with this statement, Cheung included three medical reports from Trump's doctors. This included two from former White House physician Ronny Jackson, dated July 20, 2024, and July 26, 2024, and one from his personal doctor, dated November 2023. All concluded that Trump is in great health.
