Former President Donald Trump has now received the support of the official union of the U.S. Border Patrol.

Fox News reports that the union announced its "unanimous" support of Trump for president during the rally that Trump held in Prescott Valley, Arizona, on Sunday.

The endorsement, from the National Border Patrol Council, should come as no surprise to anyone, given Trump's support of Border Patrol and given Trump's support of policies that address the problems that members of Border Patrol face on a daily basis.

Trump, nonetheless, said that he is "honored" by it.

"A great honor"

Trump, on Sunday, told the crowd at the rally that he is "honored to receive… the endorsement" of the council.

"It’s a great honor. They said it was unanimous. Thousands of people," the former president said.

Then, Trump invited Paul Perez, the president of the National Border Patrol Council, onto the stage to say a few words about the endorsement.

Perez said:

If we allow border czar Harris to win this election, every city, every community in this great country is going to go to hell. The untold millions of people unvetted, who she has allowed into this country that are committing murders, rapes, robberies, burglaries and every other crime will continue to put our country in peril. Only one man can fix that. That is Donald J. Trump. He has always stood with the men and women who protect this border, who put their lives on the line for the country.

Perez went on to say, "On behalf of the 16,000 men and women represented by the National Border Patrol Council, we strongly support and endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States."

He's not wrong

What Perez said about illegal immigrants in America with criminal propensities is not wrong.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has provided lawmakers with statistics on the situation.

The agency revealed:

Your letter requests the number of noncitizens on ICE’s docket convicted or charged with a crime. As of July 21, 2024, there were 662,566 noncitizens with criminal histories on ICE’s national docket, which includes those detained by ICE, and on the agency’s non-detained docket. Of those, 435,719 are convicted criminals [including 13,099 murders], and 226,847 have pending criminal charges.

Over 13,000 of the illegal aliens in America, according to ICE, have been convicted of homicide.

Trump, many times, has highlighted the fact that this trend would only be likely to continue if Harris were to be named the next president.
