Despite being known for keeping a lower profile than many of her predecessors, former First Lady Melania Trump opened up about her personal life in a new book.

Among its unexpected confessions is that Mrs. Trump stays in contact with the head of Britain's royal family.

King Charles II sent letter to former president after Pennsylvania shooting

According to the Mirror, that fact was revealed in her self-titled memoir "Melania," which became available for purchase earlier this month.

The former first lady recounted how she first met King Charles II at a 2005 New York event and had the "absolute pleasure to reconnect with him" in 2019 when her husband became president.

"This time we engaged in an interesting conversation about his deep-rooted commitment to environmental conservation," the newspaper noted.

The Mirror goes on to state that "former President Donald Trump is also understood to have had exchanged messages with King Charles."

What's more, The Telegraph reported last week that the U.K.'s monarch sent a private letter to Mr. Trump following his attempted assassination at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

However, the former first lady didn't just recall fond memories in her book, as she also discussed the FBI decision to raid her home just over two years ago.

Mrs. Trump posted a video to social media in which she could be heard reading a passage from her memoir, saying, "I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America."

"The FBI raided my home in Florida and searched through my personal belongings," she continued. "This is not just my story, it serves as a warning to all Americans, a reminder that our freedom and rights must be respected."

Former first lady says Americans "need to be vigilant" about their government

The Hill reported that the raid came up during a recent interview Mrs. Trump had with "Some Future Day" podcast host Marc Beckman, who asked her whether people can trust the government.

"Trust in the government, that’s a little bit tricky… because it’s so many people involved, that’s why, and so many rules and in one way, the government should not control us," she told the host.

"Can you trust the government?" the former first lady asked before remarking, "Not in everything. You need to be vigilant."
