Nancy Pelosi admits she hasn't spoken to Biden in months

Rumor had it that Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) was one of the key, driving forces behind President Joe Biden's ouster from the 2024 presidential election.

According to the New York Post, the former Democratic Speaker recently admitted that since Biden dropped out of the race, the two have not spoken.

Pelosi's bombshell admission came during an interview on the Guardian’s Politics Weekly America podcast, where she admitted that she hadn't spoken to Biden in months.

In the wake of his ouster, Pelosi has downplayed her role in influencing his decision to exit the race for the betterment of the Democratic Party.

What did she say?

Pelosi was clear and blunt when asked if she had spoken with the elderly president since the Dem Party walked him off the proverbial plank.

"Not since then, no," the California Democrat said. "But I’m prayerful about it."

Not surprisingly, Pelosi immediately resorted to gushing over the president.

"I have the greatest respect for him. I think he’s one of the great consequential presidents of our country," Pelosi, 84, added. "I think his legacy had to be protected. I didn’t see that happening in the course that it was on, the election was on."

The Post noted earlier reports of Pelosi's involvement in Biden's ouster:

Pelosi reportedly told Biden that if he did not step away from the 2024 race, she would go public with her belief that he could not defeat Donald Trump in November and release polling data to that effect following the 81-year-old’s disastrous June 27 debate against his Republican predecessor.

Shady story

Pelosi originally denied the reports that she was working the phones at the time of Biden's ouster in drumming up support from other Democrats. She later admitted that many people called her.

She recently provided additional details of the call she had with Biden.

"My call was just to: ‘Let’s get on a better course. He will make the decision as to what that is.’ And he made that decision. But I think he has some unease because we’ve been friends for decades.”

Only time will tell if the real story ever comes out, but one shouldn't hold their breath in anticipation of that happening.
