McDonald's reveals it has no records of VP Harris ever working at one of its franchises

In a clearly successful effort to troll Vice President Kamala Harris over her evidence-free claims of having once worked at a McDonald's restaurant, former President Donald Trump did exactly that on Sunday in a campaign event at one of the fast food chain's franchises in Pennsylvania.

Democrats and the media exploded with rage, which prompted a statement from McDonald's corporate that seemed to confirm that it had no records of Harris ever working for one of its franchises, as she has repeatedly claimed over the past few years, the Daily Mail reported.

Further, when the outlet reached out to the supposed restaurant the Democratic nominee claimed to have worked at, unnamed employees there told the reporters that they'd been "sworn to secrecy" and were unable to provide any information about the vice president.

Corporate McDonald's reveals it has no records of Harris' employment

Outrage ensued on the left on Sunday after former President Trump, wearing an apron over his signature white dress shirt and red tie, worked the french fry station and served a handful of customers at the drive-thru window at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania as part of a successful bid to upstage VP Harris and highlight the lack of evidence surrounding her claimed employment with the popular fast food chain.

Indeed, following the conclusion of the admitted campaign stunt that subsequently went viral on social media, Trump joked with reporters, "I've now worked for 15 minutes more than Kamala at McDonald's."

Interestingly enough, the provocative incident also elicited a statement from McDonald's corporate headquarters that carefully navigated the choppy political waters with a non-endorsement of either candidate -- "We are not red or blue -- we are golden" -- and extended an invitation for VP Harris or her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, to similarly hold an event at a franchise because one of its "core values" is that they "open our doors to everyone."

However, the statement also seemed to confirm that there was no evidence of Harris ever working at a McDonald's restaurant, as the company acknowledged her purported "fond memories" of working for them but said, "We and our franchisees don't have records for all positions dating back to the early '80s."

Franchise Harris supposedly worked at is "sworn to secrecy" about the VP

The Daily Mail noted that VP Harris' campaign claims that the Democratic nominee worked at a McDonald's franchise in Alameda County in California in the early 1980s when she was a college student.

However, when that franchise was approached by reporters with questions about the Democratic nominee's evidence-free claim of prior employment, multiple employees are said to have told the reporters that they'd been "sworn to secrecy" and were not authorized to speak with the media about Harris.

Further, when the Daily Mail contacted the Bay Area restaurant on Monday to ask if the vice president had ever actually worked at the location, an unnamed employee told the outlet, "I'm sorry, I don't have any information."

No mention of McDonald's from Harris before 2019

The Washington Free Beacon investigated VP Harris' claimed employment in August and found that she'd only first begun to make that claim during her failed 2020 presidential run while campaigning with striking labor union workers in 2019.

In fact, there is no mention of working at McDonald's in either of Harris' two memoirs, nor is it found in two biographies written by third parties -- including one written by one of her lifelong friends -- and it was also noted included on a 1987 job application and resume that required her to list all of her employment experiences over the prior decade.

Yet, despite the lack of any evidence to support the claim -- and, notably, constantly shifting details within the repeated story -- the Harris campaign and her media allies have continued to insist that she, like so many other Americans, once worked under the Golden Arches.

There is simply no proof of that alleged employment, though, and former President Trump hit a PR grand slam in his hilarious bid to call out his opponent on that apparent lie.
