Doug Emhoff's ex-girlfriend claims he slapped her in 2012

Following reports that Emhoff might have been abusive to a former partner, questions arose about what that could mean for Harris, and the accuser has recently spoken out about her experience.
A woman has claimed that Doug Emhoff struck her during an argument during their relationship in 2012, prior to his marriage to Kamala Harris. The second man's spokesperson has denied the accusation.
Accusation Details
The woman has not publicly identified herself. She first spoke to the Daily Mail anonymously and then again after Emhoff’s denial, on the condition that her name was not disclosed.
The tabloid described her as a successful lawyer in New York and published pictures of the then couple, but with her face blurred out.
She alleges that Emhoff struck her so hard while they were attending the Cannes Film Festival in France in 2012 that the force of the slap spun her around.
Emhoff Response
According to CNN, a spokesman for Emhoff stated that the charges were "untrue" when speaking to Semafor. The spokesperson also stated that "any suggestion that he would or has ever hit a woman is false."
According to the Daily Mail, the woman's claim has been supported by three friends of hers who have not been identified, and she has now accused Emhoff of being hypocritical.
The woman had not previously participated in interviews until this week, when she gave an interview to the Daily Mail.

Additionally, the woman voiced her disapproval of what she perceived to be Emhoff's promotion of his reputation as a "perfect" spouse and a feminist.
He was standing alongside Harris, the nominee for president of the Democratic party, who could become the first female president of the United States of America if she beats Donald Trump in the upcoming election.
“He’s being held out to be the antithesis of who he actually is. And that is utterly shocking,” she told the Mail.
