Professional wrestling legend Ric Flair loses stepson to suicide
Professional wrestling icon Ric Flair is no stranger to publicity, having won championships over the course of his decades-long career.
However, the ring legend's name became associated with tragedy this week following the death of his stepson.
Death caused by self-inflicted gunshot wound
TMZ reported on Sunday that 24-year-0ld Sebastian Kidder had passed away, with his mother Wendy Barlow confirming that his death was the result of suicide.
Kidder, a musician who recently performed several songs on FOX's "Good Day Atlanta," sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Saturday, something which authorities are continuing to investigate.
TMZ noted that Barlow married Flair in 2018 following a long-term relationship, with the wrestler described as having been close to his stepson.
Meanwhile, People magazine noted that Kidder told "Good Day Atlanta" that he began to write his own music after taking inspiration from such artists as Aerosmith, Maroon 5 and Michael Jackson.
