In recent weeks, Vice President Kamala Harris has been confronted with a series of ominous polls coming from the critical swing state of Michigan.

What's more, one recent survey suggests that her campaign has been abandoned by an important demographic there.

Poll shows Trump winning Arab American vote

According to the Daily Caller, an Arab News/YouGov poll carried out between September 26 and October 1 found that 45% of Arab American voters are planning to cast a ballot for former President Donald Trump.

By contrast, just 43% indicated a willingness to support Harris. This could prove to be a serious problem in Michigan given that it has the nation's largest Arab American population.

The poll also showed that 39% of Arab Americans believe Trump will successfully resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict" whereas only 33% say the same of Harris.

Meanwhile, three sources described as being closely tied with the campaign reportedly told NBC News last week that there is growing concern over Harris' chances in Michigan.

Muslim leaders endorse Trump

What's more, Trump was publicly endorsed by Imam Belal Alzuhairi during a campaign rally held in Novi, Michigan over the weekend.

"We, as Muslims, stand with President Trump because he promises peace, not war!" Alzuhairi declared before adding that he and other Muslim leaders had a "positive meeting" with the former president.

"We are supporting Donald Trump because he promised to end war in the Middle East and Ukraine," the local faith leader went on to assert.

"The bloodshed has to stop all over the world and I think this man can make that happen. I personally believe that God saved his life twice for a reason," Alzuhairi added.

Alliance with Liz Cheney may alienate voters

In an opinion piece published on Monday, Daily Caller editor in chief John Loftus noted that the rally also featured Bill Bazzi, who serves as mayor of Dearborn Heights. He said, "We are going to stop the wars; we are going to make the United States safe again."

Loftus wrote that the recent endorsement of Trump by Alzuhairi and Bazzi amounted to "a dead canary in Kamala’s Michigan coal mine."

Further, he suggested that Harris' recent coziness with former Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney could further alienate Arab American voters.
