MSNBC whackjob host Joe Scarborough of "Morning Joe" addressed former President Donald Trump's previous claims that he had something to do with the death of one of his interns while he was serving in Congress.

According to the Daily Mail, Scarborough recalled when Trump attacked him in 2020 with claims that the morning show host was far more involved in the intern's death, rather than it being a tragic accident.

The intern, Lori Klausutis, died after she reportedly fell and hit her head while working at Scarborough's Florida district office in 2001.

The MSNBC host addressed Trump's previous claims during a recent segment on his show.

What did he say?

Scarborough claimed Trump made the accusations because he didn't "like his COVID coverage."

"When Donald Trump decided to attack me because he didn’t like my COVID coverage and he lied about a woman who worked in my office and claimed that we were involved and that I had her killed," Scarborough said.

He added, "And her husband, the widowed husband, begged him to stop lying because of the excruciating pain that it put her parents through and put him through - the fact that he had not been able to move on for 25 years because of the lies."

The MSNBC host said Trump didn't care about the widowed husband or their family, and continued to lie about the accusations.

"They could not find rest or peace. And Donald Trump didn’t care. He just kept doing it because he didn’t care what the family thought," the MSNBC host continued.

Social media reacts

Users across social media weighed in on Scarborough bringing up the incident, with many implying that further investigation should have taken place regarding the intern's death.

"Was there a real investigation done on the intern's death? How many lies has this crew told over the years about Jan6? They helped destroy the lives of so many Americans," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Sounds like a soft confession."

"I think he did do it. I believe she was pregnant at the time. Also filmaker Michael Moore believed he was guilty," another X user wrote.
