Trump laments the end of MAGA rallies

Former President Donald Trump is lamenting the fact that his campaign rallies are about to come to an end - for good, the Daily Mail reports

This is because, whether or not he wins the 2024 presidential election, he will not be running for the presidency again, so there will be no more MAGA rallies.

In other words, he is about to retire from the rallies that he and his supporters have really come to enjoy.

This comes as the 2024 presidential election is less than two days from taking place.

"We're winding down"

A "wistful" Trump, according to the Daily Mail, reflected upon the fact that campaign rallies are coming to an end for good at a recent campaign event in Detroit, Michigan.

There, he said, "We're winding down. Nine years we've been doing it, right? And now we're winding down."

Trump, according to the Washington Times, has been making such remarks at all of his recent rallies, including at the one that took place on Saturday in Greensboro, North Carolina.

There, Trump said:

I was talking to some of the people, it’s sort of, you know, in a way, it’s sad, in a way, it’s beautiful. I was talking to them, and I said, you know, this is coming to an end. These rallies are coming to an end. We’ve been doing them, think of it, for like, nine years.

Trump's supporters, no doubt, would agree with this sentiment.

Looking forward

With the 2024 presidential election taking place on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, Trump is scheduled to hold his final campaign rally ever the day before.

The Daily Mail reports:

It all ends on Monday night, with the finale to his 2024 race in Grand Rapids. That was where he finished his victorious 2016 campaign, an event his supporters talk of in near-mystical terms. Trump has said he will not run again. Which means, win or lose, Monday will herald his final campaign rally.

Trump and his supporters, of course, are hoping that this is only the end of his campaign rallies and not the end of his political career. In other words, they are hoping that, come January, it will be Trump who is inaugurated.

A lot of questions remain, such as what will Trump do if he loses? Will, for example, he continues to fight with his fellow Republicans? Or, will he simply bow out of politics?

Hopefully, we will not learn the answer to this question for another four years.
