New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James has waged what critics have decried as lawfare against former President Donald Trump.

Yet the man who could become Trump's attorney general recently warned that James could be facing legal problems of her own.

Lawyer says James could be prosecuted "for conspiracy against rights"

According to The Populist Times, that threat was put forward on Thursday by conservative lawyer Mike Davis during an interview with Benny Johnson.

"I dare you to continue your lawfare against President Trump," Davis was quoted as saying of New York's state attorney general.

"Listen here, sweetheart, we’re not messing around this time and we will put your fat a-- in prison for conspiracy against rights," he added.

James' judgment against Trump could be overturned

As Fox News explained, James secured a massive monetary judgment against the then-former president in a civil fraud lawsuit.

"Today, justice has been served. Today we proved that no one is above the law. No matter how rich, powerful or politically connected you are," James told reporters at a press conference.

"The scale and the scope of Donald Trump’s fraud is staggering and so too is his ego. And his belief that the rules do not apply to him. Today, we are holding Donald Trump accountable," she insisted.

However, Fox News noted in September that comments from judges on a New York appeals court suggest they may be open to overturning the $454 million decision.

Davis: "They tried to kill Trump"

The Daily Mail pointed out that this is far from being Davis' only controversial statement, as he also made a series of provocative social media posts following Trump's election win.

"Here's my current mood," Davis declared on Wednesday. "I want to drag their dead political bodies through the streets, burn them, and throw them off the wall. (Legally, politically, and financially, of course.)"

Davis expressed similar sentiments in another post put up earlier in the day, stating, "F--k unity. We have the votes. And they tried to kill Trump."

The Washington Post recalled how Davis served as a clerk to Supreme Court Justice Neil M. Gorsuch and also "helped move hundreds" of Trump's judicial nominees through the Senate.
