VP Harris' stepdaughter Ella Emhoff breaks down over Trump election win

A lot of liberal women are having a difficult time coming to grips with the fact that President-elect Donald Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in Tuesday's election and will soon begin another four-year term in the White House.

Among them is Ella Emhoff, 25, the leftist daughter of second gentleman Doug Emhoff and stepdaughter of VP Harris, who was reportedly "losing her mind" in reaction to the election results, according to the New York Post.

Yet, while it was Emhoff's own self-published words that led to those reports and rumors about an alleged mental breakdown, she angrily pushed back later against those accusations and insisted she hadn't been driven crazy by Trump's victory.

Emhoff was not happy with the election results

On Wednesday, VP Harris delivered a concession speech at Howard University in Washington D.C., and Ella Emhoff was caught by photographers crying about her stepmother's electoral loss, a photo she then shared on her Instagram page on Thursday.

"Truly no words. We are all going to get through this. It just f–king hurts like a b-tch right now and that’s ok," Emhoff wrote. "The fight doesn't stop now. Just please check in on your people right now. I’m here for all of you and I love you guys."

That same day, she also addressed the situation on her craft-focused SubStack page, and said, "Ooof … What. A. Week. I feel like we all need this extra this week."

"I know we are all feeling a lot of emotions right now. That’s normal, and it would be weird if we weren’t. I know I’ve gone through about 10 cycles of sadness, rage, and stress -- and that was just this morning," Emhoff continued. "I think it’s important to feel them all so they don’t fester inside. One way I always make myself feel better is by harnessing that anger and sadness into creativity. I know that’s not for everyone. It can be really hard to create when things feel so uncertain."

"I just want you all to know that I’m here for you. This space has already felt so calming and special to me, and now, more than ever, I’m going to make it a space where we can all just relax and take our minds off things. Or not, and just be together as a crafting community. Community is what we need to uplift right now," she added as she proceeded to share some links to things that she'd found interesting on Pinterest.

Emhoff says rumors of mental breakdown are "not true"

According to Newsweek, Emhoff was quite displeased by the news media reports and social media rumors of her suffering a mental breakdown over President-elect Trump's victory and even being hospitalized because of it, and made her feelings on that topic abundantly clear on social media.

Sharing a picture of herself and her dog, Jerry, Emhoff wrote, "There's a rumor about me having a mental breakdown and getting checked into a hospital. Not true."

"Also f--k you if you're out there spreading that. There's nothing wrong with showing emotion and crying. Anyone who says there is, probably needs a good cry," she added. "I've struggled with my mental health my whole life and I'm not ashamed of it. I've literally just been playing fetch with Jerry."

In a reply comment to that post, Emhoff's mother, Kerstin, said, "More MAGA bs against my family. Leave my kids alone!!! Ella is doing great and spending a lovely day with her mom. Having the ability to show your emotions is something we should all hope for. It's OK to not feel great right now. We aren't letting anyone break our family down."

Celebrities and media figures also lost their cool over Trump's victory

Whether Ella Emhoff had a legitimate mental breakdown or simply a normal response to Trump's win is unclear, but she certainly wasn't alone in expressing her emotions of anger and sadness, as the Daily Beast documented the utter meltdown of rage and grief by numerous celebrities who'd aligned themselves with VP Harris against the former Republican president.

Nor was it just left-leaning celebrities who were utterly devastated by Harris' loss, as Fox News similarly documented the total abandonment of the ostensible objectivity of numerous members of the media who also publicly exhibited their apparent inability to accept the fact that Trump will be the president again for another four years.
