Former aide Hayley Harrison named as Melania Trump's new chief of staff
President-elect Donald Trump's victory earlier this month means that his wife will once again take on the role of America's first lady.
As the Washington Examiner reported, that fact led Melania Trump to pull the trigger on hiring a new chief of staff.
Former aide to manage White House East Wing
Mrs. Trump's office announced in a social media post on Friday that the position will go to former aide Hayley Harrison.

"Mrs. Harrison has maintained an integral role and exceptional leadership on the First Lady’s team over the past seven years," the announcement explained.
"She has a strong understanding of White House operations, and as Chief of Staff, Mrs. Harrison will oversee and manage the East Wing's team while strategically liaising with other parts of government," it went on to explain.
Mrs. Trump's former chief of staff endorsed Kamala Harris
The Examiner noted that Mrs. Trump's previous chief of staff was Stephanie Grisham, who also served for less than a year as White House Press secretary.
Grisham subsequently became a fierce critic of the Trump administration and spoke earlier this year at the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
"When I was press secretary, I got skewered for never holding a White House briefing," the Examiner quoted Grisham as telling convention attendees in Chicago.
"It's because, unlike my boss, I never wanted to stand at that podium and lie," the former Trump White House figure went on to insist.
Grisham concluded by saying, "Now here I am behind a podium advocating for a Democrat, and that’s because I love my country more than my party. Kamala Harris tells the truth. She respects the American people. And she has my vote."
Report: Mrs. Trump will spend much of the year in New York with Barron
Meanwhile, the New York Post reported earlier this month that Mrs. Trump will only spend part of her time in Washington, D.C.
The newspaper cited an unnamed source as saying that the incoming first lady will reside for much of the year in New York, where her son Barron is attending college.
"It was his decision to come here, that he wants to be in New York, study in New York, and live in his home and I respect that," Mrs. Trump told Fox News in September when speaking of Barron.
