Kamala Harris Reportedly Laying Groundwork For 2028 Presidential Run

Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly laying the groundwork for a potential 2028 presidential campaign in the wake of her devastating loss in the 2024 presidential election.

Information from the Harris camp has emerged suggesting that Harris isn't letting her election defeat stunt her career as she may be planning a possible political comeback via either a 2026 California gubernatorial run or even a 2028 repeat bid for the presidency.

Harris insiders told Politico that Harris is “staying in the fight” and will be making a political comeback as soon as possible.

Harris recently went to Hawaii with her husband to recuperate from the outcome of November 6th's election and now that she is back there is buzzing speculation about the future.

Harris Isn't Done

Harris will reportedly be doing a lot of planning and consulting with family over the holidays and for now, she has time before she has to worry about making hard plans.

Kamala Harris may be considered the worst presidential candidate in American history but that isn't stopping her from continuing her career living off taxpayer dollars through "public service" in politics.

A former campaign aide told Politico that, "She doesn’t have to decide if she wants to run for something again in the next six months. The natural thing to do would be to set up some type of entity that would give her the opportunity to travel and give speeches and preserve her political relationships.”

Former Harris aide Brian Brokaw further speculated on her plans saying, "Could she run for governor? Yes. Do I think she wants to run for governor? Probably not. Could she win? Definitely. Would she like the job? I don’t know. Could she run for president again? Yes."

Will she be governor?

Harris's best opportunity to return to politics will be running in 2026 to replace California Governor Gavin Newsom, who will be term-limited from running again.

Harris's failings won't stop her from winning in California where the most insane and radical Democrats are hugely successful.

However, 2028 is where things get interesting as she could join the pool of Democrat candidates who will vie for the Democrat Party's nomination in the 2028 presidential candidate. Governor Newsom is also expected to run in 2028 putting the two at odds.

The Case For Harris

Harris wants to return to politics but she has to grapple with the reality that she is not well-liked.

Brokaw noted these concerns stating, "Would she have a whole bunch of skepticism from the outset, because she has run in a full-length Democratic primary where [in 2019] she didn’t even make it long enough to be in the Iowa caucus, and then she was the nominee this year? People can learn a lot from their previous adversity, too."

It's worth noting that Harris didn't participate in the 2024 primary because there was no primary. And the DNC refused to hold an open primary to allow challengers to Harris meaning that she didn't need to win a single vote to land the presidential nomination.

The case for Harris in 2028 or in any political contest outside of California is incredibly weak and talks of Harris returning in 2028 has likely induced panic among Democrats still recovering from the election earlier this month.
