Trump's prediction that Biden would pardon his son has been vindicated
Hunter Biden has had no shortage of legal problems, including convictions for illegal gun possession as well as federal tax crimes. However, a pardon issued by his father this past weekend will ensure that he goes unpunished.
A video clip has since resurfaced in which President-elect Donald Trump can be seen predicting that President Joe Biden would come to his son's aid.
Trump: "I'll bet you the father probably pardons him"
According to Breitbart, the video was recorded in October and showed Trump discussing the possibility of a pardon for Hunter Biden while speaking with Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin.
When Mulugin asked Trump if he would consider pardoning the president's son, he responded by saying, "I wouldn't do anything that would be overt in terms of Hunter, it's a sad situation."

"I'll bet you the father probably pardons him, we’ll see what happens, but he's a bad boy, no question about it," Trump went on to add.
Law professor calls pardon "very unusual"
As USA Today reported, Hunter Biden's pardon is not for any specific crime but instead covers all criminal offenses that he has committed since January 1, 2014 and might go on to commit before the end of this year.
Mark Osler is a law professor at the University of St. Thomas, and he told the newspaper that the pardon's broad scope is "very unusual."
"It's unusual enough to grant clemency in a case where there hasn’t been a conviction yet. But it's rarer still to have the breadth of this one," he added.
Meanwhile, Fox News pointed out that many Republicans seized upon the fact that President Biden had long said he would not pardon his son.
Biden's promise not to pardon Hunter "aged like fine milk"
They included Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz who wrote in a social media post that Biden's pledge had "aged like fine milk."
Louisiana Republican Rep. Steve Scalise spoke up in a post of his own, saying, "You've been lied to every step of the way by this Administration and the corrupt Biden family."
"This is just the latest in their long coverup scheme. They never play by the same rules they force on everyone else. Disgraceful," Scalise added.
X users also expressed their opinion by attaching a community note highlighting the pardon to a May post in which Joe Biden wrote, "No one is above the law."
