This week saw Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman defend President Joe Biden's controversial decision to pardon his son.

Yet in a bombshell development, the senator also came to President-elect Donald Trump's defense as well.

"The Trump hush money and Hunter Biden cases were both bulls--t"

According to Fox News, Fetterman's remarks were made in a post on Truth Social, the social media platform which Trump founded.

"The Trump hush money and Hunter Biden cases were both bulls--t, and pardons are appropriate," Fetterman wrote on Tuesday.

"Weaponizing the judiciary for blatant, partisan gain diminishes the collective faith in our institutions and sows further division," the lawmaker went on to add.

Fetterman went on to include a screenshot of an MSNBC story detailing how Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is fighting a motion by Trump's attorneys which seeks to have his criminal case dismissed.

Fetterman slammed those who celebrated murder of Brian Thompson

Fox News noted that Fetterman reiterated his point during an appearance on ABC's "The View," saying, "I think it's undeniable that the case against Hunter Biden was really politically motivated."

"But I also think it’s true that the trial in New York for Trump, that was political as well, too. Now, in both cases, I think a pardon is appropriate," he declared.

This is not the first time that Fetterman has broken with other progressives in recent days, as this past weekend he slammed those who endorsed the murder of health insurance executive Brian Thompson.

"No shortage of sh---y takes on the 2024 election or on this assassination. The public execution of an innocent man and father of two is indefensible, not 'inevitable,'" he wrote in a post on X.

Former Washington Post contributor said Thompson's killing brought "joy"

Fetterman was referring to a New York Magazine article which suggested that Thompson's murder on a Manhattan sidewalk was "inevitable."

"Condoning and cheering this on says more about YOU than the situation of health insurance," the Pennsylvania Democrat concluded.

Among those celebrating Thompson's death is former Washington Post contributor Taylor Lorenz, who told journalist Piers Morgan that it brought her "joy."
