Don Jr. spotted with new girlfriend on Mar-a-Lago date, split with Kim Guilfoyle confirmed
Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle began dating in 2018 and got engaged in 2022, but there have been rumors in recent weeks and months that the couple were no longer together.
The split was confirmed this week when Don Jr. was spotted on a dinner date at Mar-a-Lago with his new girlfriend, Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, the Daily Mail reported.
Inside sources revealed that the public date was the culmination of a relationship change that occurred earlier in the summer but was kept quiet until now so as not to distract from President-elect Donald Trump's successful campaign for a second term in the White House.
Don Jr. spotted with new girlfriend
The New York Post's Page Six broke the news of Don Jr. and Anderson's Mar-a-Lago dinner date on Wednesday and how the new couple "paraded their love for all to see," per an unnamed source, who noted that "they are clearly in love" but have "remained discreet."
The pair were spotted speaking with the president-elect before he left his Florida resort for a trip to New York City, and "didn't try to hide their love" while they were also seen mingling with other guests at the exclusive club "like a sophisticated political couple."
The Mar-a-Lago date came just a few days after the couple were snapped by paparazzi holding hands while leaving a local restaurant in Palm Beach.
Split with Kim was "amicable" and "friendly"
People magazine reported this week that unnamed sources confirmed that Don Jr. and Guilfoyle were no longer romantically involved but that it was "not a contentious split" and they remained "amicable" with one another.
"It's a friendly split between Kimberly and Don Jr.," an insider source said and explained that "they've had a very long engagement [and] it was kind of in a holding pattern."
"The Trump family is still enamored with her," the source added. "She's very intelligent, very smart, very loyal. Even before she and Don were together, she was close with the family. She knew Donald before she knew Don Jr., and that connection is strong. So nothing has changed."
Indeed, Guilfoyle will presumably continue to serve the president-elect going forward as she has traded in her campaign advisory role for a nomination to be the nation's ambassador to Greece, subject to Senate confirmation.
That nomination has raised some eyebrows, though, and an unnamed political source told People, "Bettina wants Kim out of the area" and, along with Don Jr., were "trying to send Kim abroad." The source added, "They waited for the election to pass but they didn’t want the split to get in the way of anything to hurt Donald in the election."
"Now that Kim is out of the picture ..."
"Trump insiders have known about Bettina for months" and Don Jr. has been "chomping at the bit to show her off at Mar-a-Lago," an insider source at the club told the Daily Mail. "She's been there before, of course, but he's been much more discreet about being together. And together they are."
"He's bewitched by Bettina -- her looks, her smarts, her pedigree," the source added. "Now that Kim is out of the picture the relationship is going to get even more serious."
"There is no more Kimberly and Don -- at least not romantically. Their engagement hasn't officially been called off yet. They were waiting until after the Inauguration to announce," a separate source told the outlet. "The truth is Don and Bettina are still very much together. He's crazy about her."
