Donald Trump Jr. is taking a new love affair public, as his engagement to longtime fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle publicly unravels.

After months of gossip, Don Jr. formally launched his relationship with Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson last week, generating a blitz of media coverage.

The two lovebirds showed their affection at Mar-A-Lago, as President-elect Trump named Guilfoyle to a diplomatic post thousands of miles away.

Don Jr. launches new relationship

Don Jr.'s new relationship had been an open secret for months in Palm Beach, where the Trump family resides. The eldest son of Donald Trump reportedly wanted to keep his affair discreet until after the presidential election, but the paparazzi blew his cover.

While Anderson is no stranger to the Palm Beach social scene, the relationship was taken to the next level last week as Don Jr. brought her to a private dinner at Mar-a-Lago. The "hard launch" came just as Don Jr.'s father nominated Guilfoyle to be the ambassador to Greece.

Insiders told The Daily Mail that Don Jr. has been "chomping at the bit" to show Anderson off at Mar-a-Lago.

"She's been there before, of course, but he's been much more discreet about being together. And together they are," one source told the British tabloid.

The day after their Mar-A-Lago date, the lovebirds were seen waiting to board a flight to Madrid out of Miami airport.

Broken engagement

Don Jr. sees his new girlfriend as his own Melania Trump, according to insiders, and he hopes his father is impressed with Anderson's glamorous modeling career and blue-blooded pedigree.

"He's bewitched by Bettina – her looks, her smarts, her pedigree. Now that Kim is out of the picture the relationship is going to get even more serious," a source said.

Guilfoyle - a vocal Trump supporter and former federal prosecutor - seemed to be well-established in the Trump family orbit when rumors started to churn months ago that Don Jr. had found a new mistress.

While Guilfoyle was reportedly "blindsided" and hurt, some say the breakup has been amicable and Guilfoyle remains on good terms with the Trump family.

"The Trump family is still enamored with her," a source told People. "She's very intelligent, very smart, very loyal. Even before she and Don were together, she was close with the family. She knew Donald before she knew Don Jr., and that connection is strong. So nothing has changed."

While Don Jr. has not publicly acknowledged the end of his engagement, he defended his "special bond" with Guilfoyle in a statement to PageSix.
