John Fetterman tells fellow Democrats to 'chill out' when it comes Trump
President-elect Donald Trump is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 20, and many Democrats are already gearing up to resist his agenda.
Yet in a stunning move, Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman recently signaled that he will be taking a different approach.
Fetterman tells fellow Democrats to "chill out"
The Daily Caller noted how Fetterman voiced that message during an interview on Sunday with ABC's "This Week," co-host Jonathan Karl.
Specifically, the senator told others in his party that they should "chill out" because their propensity to "freak out" is "not helpful," adding, "So, you know, pack a lunch — pace yourself because he hasn’t even taken office yet."
What's more, Fetterman also told Karl that Trump "has the potential to be a successful and a good president," an outcome he would like to see happen.

"If you’re rooting against the president you’re rooting against the nation and I’m not ever gonna be where I want a president to fail. So, country first. I know that it’s become maybe like a cliche, but it happens to be truth," Fetterman insisted.
Pennsylvania Democrat has defended Trump voters
This is far from being the first time Fetterman has been at odds with fellow Democrats, as he defended Trump's voters when speaking with Politico after last month's election.
"They’re not fascists," he insisted. "They’re not those things. I think if you go to the tickle switch, use those kinds of terms, then it’s kind of hard to walk back on those things."
"That’s kind of a word that really isn’t part of the vernacular for voters. Scolding harder or clutching the pearls harder, that’s never going to work for Democrats," Fetterman added.
Meanwhile, Fox News reported last week that Fetterman pledged to keep an "open mind" when it comes to confirming those Trump has nominated for high office.
Fetterman wants "an informed opinion" on nominees
"I believe that it’s appropriate and the responsibility of a U.S. Senator to have a conversation with President-elect Trump's nominees," Fetterman wrote in a social media post.
"That's why I met with Elise Stefanik and Pete Hegseth, just wrapped with Tulsi Gabbard, and look forward to my meetings with others soon," the senator explained.
