Marco Rubio disputes reports that he's helping Trump pick ambassador posts

President-elect Donald Trump is continuing to trigger his haters with his various appointments and Cabinet picks.

He's especially getting under their skin with his picks for ambassadorship appointments across the world. The Daily Mail reported that the president-elect is "swapping notes" regarding the picks with incoming Sec. of State Marco Rubio, though the claim has been disputed.

Democrats are coming out of the woodwork in opposition to Trump's selections for various posts.

Some top Democrats, including incoming Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is already promising to look into some of Trump's selections as part of the Senate's "advise and consent role."

What's happening?

The outlet most notably interviewed retiring Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) regarding the incoming president's pick for the ambassador position in Greece, which will be former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Guilfoyle was engaged to Donald Trump Jr. until bombshell news earlier this month that revealed the engagement was broken off, causing some to speculate that the president-elect's decision to make her U.S. ambassador in Greece was a negotiation to keep her silent on the issue.

"It’s unfortunately, you know, a clown car if it wasn’t so dangerous, because these people will be put in positions that are really important for the country and important for people," Stabennow said, criticizing Guilfoyle and Trump's other selections.

For his part, Schiff added, "Apart from being part of the family, I don't know what relevant background she has, but I will obviously be looking into it," vowing to use his new position to scrutinize Trump's picks, not that it will make much of a difference.

As far as the suggestion that Rubio is helping, the incoming Secretary of State is reportedly letting Trump handle it all.

The Daily Mail noted:

There is little doubt that it is Trump himself who is calling the shots on the top ambassador picks, which have been rolled out with highly personalized statements on their attributes from the president-elect.

Former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott said Rubio has made plain that it is a personal Trump operation.

Guilfoyle's office fires back

A source close to Guilfoyle said the claim that she was given the plumb posting in Greece as a way to keep her silent after the end of her relationship with Trump Jr. was absurd.

"Oh yeah: get her out of here – that’s the stupidest thing," the source reportedly said.

They added, "People were going to say he’s banishing you to Greece. If I was going to banish my ex to somewhere, it certainly wouldn’t be Mykonos."

It shouldn't come as a surprise that Democrats and media forces are doing everything they can to oppose and criticize Trump. It's par for the course at this point.
